The Sutton Principle

Willie Sutton was a famous bank robber who when asked by a reporter “Why do you rob banks?” apparently said, “That is where the money is?” So I will structure my story around the story of William Banting ... roughly for now anyway. And if you ask me why I will say “Obesity and Diabetes are where the money is!”

I looked up a bit more about Willie Sutton ... and what follows is fascinating.

Willie Sutton Rule – definition and meaning

The Willie Sutton Rule, or Sutton’s Law, states that we should focus on where the money is, which in the world of business means the most profitable activate, rather than wasting valuable time on less lucrative ones. Choose whatever is most likely to produce the highest yield.
